Jane Elizabeth Hall Iber
We celebrate the joyful, enlightened and generous life of Jane Elizabeth Iber. Supported by the love of her family, Jane passed peacefully at the age of 89 on January 24th, 2010, after a long absence from us due to Alzheimer’s disease. Her wonderful intelligence, lively humor, and personal warmth are ever present to her family and friends. Jane was an inspired and active young person, a caring teacher, and a loving wife and mother. In her later life, she became an artist who captured engaging pictures of her expanding world while traveling extensively with her husband Con.
Jane was born on February 18, 1920, to Edward and Jenny Hall, joining her brother Charles in their Springfield, Illinois family home. The family later moved to Peoria and Jane attended Peoria Central High School and Illinois State University. It was while she was teaching in elementary school that she met Conrad Iber, whom she married in 1942 while Con was stationed with the U. S. Army at Fort Knox, Kentucky. The family, including Jane and Con and their children Chris, Connie and Con lived in East Peoria near the extended Iber family, and later Jane and Con moved to Peoria in their retirement years.
Both the visitation at 1:00 PM and the memorial service at 2:00 PM will be held on Friday, January 29, 2010 in the Waters of Life Chapel at Lutheran Hillside Village, 6901 N. Galena Road. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Jane’s memory be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Central Illinois Chapter, 606 W Glen Ave, Peoria 60614.
