Biography
Mildred D. Tennant, age 91, of Peoria, passed away on Monday, June 14, 2010 at Rosewood Care Center.
Mildred was born on March 20, 1919 in Litchfield, Illinois to Walter W. and Nela (Davis) Scheffel. She married Jake Tennant on June 12, 1981 in Boise, Idaho.
Mildred is survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Mildred was a Physical Education Teacher at Woodruff School in Peoria for 36 years retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Peoria Academy of Science and Geology, the Peoria Rock Hound Club, and she enjoyed collecting fossils.
Mildred was donated to science and there will be no services.
