Gary Lou Reardon, age 68, of Peoria, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Gary was born on May 28, 1942 in Peoria, Illinois to Robert and Violet (Barden) Reardon. He married Sherry Jones on October 21, 1961 in Peoria, Illinois.
Gary is survived by his wife, Sherry; four sons, Gary “Scott” Reardon of Peoria, Illinois, Brian (Heather) Reardon of Bartonville, Illinois, Bradley Reardon of Peoria, Illinois, and Daniel (Alicia) Reardon of Washington, Illinois; four grandchildren, Megan, Holly, Madisyn, and Jordain; two great-grandchildren, Hadlee and Jackson; and three brothers, Robert Reardon of Bloomington, Illinois, John Reardon of Peoria, Illinois, and Kenneth Reardon of Peoria, Illinois.
Gary served in the United States Army with the National Guard in 1961 and 1962. He then worked as a Buyer’s Analyst for Caterpillar for 31 years retiring in 2002. After retiring from Caterpillar, Gary worked for the Peoria Park District. Gary was a member of the Amvets, he was a past president of the Peoria Razorbacks Wrestling Team, a referee for the Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 25, 2010 from 4pm to 8pm at Cumerford-Hurd Funeral Home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation. Memorials may be made to the Peoria Park District Zoo. |
